Rules and Regulations
Rules and Regulations:
1/ General Scoring System:
5 points - Correct Winner
2 points - Per correct number of goals per team
1 point - 100% scoreline and winner correct bonus
These will be added together in different ways to give you your total score for every prediction made.
For example: If the predicted score was Team A winning 1-0:
10 points - If Team A wins 1-0 (winner + 2 scores + 100% bonus)
7 points - If Team A wins 2-0 (winner + 1 score)
5 points - If Team A wins 3-1 (Winner)
2 points - If it is a 1-1 draw (1 score)
Examples of the scores and points are shown in the table below, it has been done this way to make it 100% fair, so no scoreline will have a higher chance of scoring well than any of the others as in previous years.
########INSERT TABLE FOR GROUP STAGES HERE#########
2/ Knockout Stages and Penalties:
To choose a team to win by penalties, only fill in the actual goals during normal and extra times, and then select the team that wins on penalties and submit the score. If you are correct in guessing that there will or will not be pentalties in the knockout stages, then you get a bonus 2 points.
For example: If you wish to predict that two teams end with a 1-1 score after extra time, then go into penalties, write 1-1 and check the box for the penalty winner. DO NOT fill in the number of penalties you think they will score (so, if they are at 1-1, and one team scores 5 penalties, and the other scores 4, the score is still 1-1, NOT 6-5!)
You will get the points as follows:
5 points - Correct Winner
2 points - Per correct number of goals per team
2 points - Correct guess that it will end either with or without penalties
1 point - 100% scoreline, winner and penalties or not correct bonus
If the predicted score was 1-1, with Team A winning on penalties:
12 points - If Team A wins 1-1 on penalties (winner + 2 scores + penalties + 100% bonus)
7 points - If Team A wins 0-0, 2-2, 3-3, etc on penalties (Winner + penalties)
7 points - If Team A wins 1-0 (winner + 1 score)
6 points - If Team B wins 1-1 on penalties (2 scores + penalties)
5 points - If Team A wins 2-0 (Winner)
2 points - If Team A loses 1-2 (1 score)
Examples of the scores and points are shown in the table below, it has been done this way to make it 100% fair, so no scoreline will have a higher chance of scoring well than any of the others as in previous years.
########INSERT TABLE FOR KNOCKOUT STAGES HERE#########
3/ Special Rules:
Wild Card: Everyone has 3 wild cards to use at any point in the group stages, and 3 more when the knockout stages have been reached. When a wild card is played then the score from the match it is played on gets doubled. Wild cards can only be played DURING making a prediction, not afterwards, so choose when to play them carefully! If wild cards remain unused from the group stages they will NOT be carried over to the knockout stages, so remember to use them when you are allowed to!
Guess The Title Winner: At the beginning of the tournament you have the chance to choose who will win overall, once chosen, you cannot change the prediction until the knockout stages, and if you choose to change your prediction then the points you will recieve will be reduced.
15 points - Correct guess from the start with no changes
10 points - Correct guess after changing the prediction in the knock out stages
8 points - Incorrect guess from the start with no changes but the team gets to the final stage
4 points - Incorrect guess after changing the prediction in the knock out stages but the team gets to the final stage
4/ When to enter the predictions:
This is VERY IMPORTANT and there will be NO EXCEPTIONS! The games will be put up in the fixtures section as soon as possible. You will then have plenty of time to fill in your predictions before the match starts. On the starting whistle of the match the predictions will be closed. This is automatic and the time is set for the beginning of the match, so whether you're 1 second late or 1 hour late, there will be no way for your score to be added to the pool. So PLEASE DO IT EARLY! Complaints about this will be ignored, this is to make it fair for everyone.
5/ Rules of the forum:
Please try to keep the forum a nice and enjoyable area for us all to chat in. Feel free to talk about whatever you want, but try to keep the arguing to a minimum. Also, Try to keep the language as clean as possible, there are some older and easily offendable people joining us, you don't want to be the reason for them going into shock due to reading words they've never heard or seen before do you?
6/ Questions:
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to post them in the forum as a first option. Other people might have the same question and would like to see the answer. Any important questions and answers will be added here as they are asked and answered. Using the forum for this is better than e-mail as it is easier to respond and it is much more public. You will probably get a quicker response this way also.
7/ Enjoy yourself:
This is a very important rule! This is all done for our enjoyment, so you'd better start enjoying it. If you don't, you'll all get a nice European-style beating in the summer!
Have fun, and good luck predicting!
